Baked in Gilbert. Cakes delivered next door.
Sugar Ditch is a small, locally owned bakery in Gilbert’s Heritage District. The name is a nod to the irrigation ditches that made Gilbert a farm town; the sugar part explains itself. [The owner’s story and a photo of the bakers go here.]

Questions from the pickup line
Before you order, the short answers.
What time do I need to order by?
8 pm for anything from the case or a loaf the next morning. Custom cakes need 7 days; two-tier cakes and orders for 50 or more people need 14.
What if I’m late for pickup?
Boxes wait on the pickup shelf until 2 pm. Text us if you’re running behind and we’ll hold it until close.
Do you make anything gluten-free?
No, and we’d rather say so up front. By 5 am the kitchen is a cloud of flour, so we don’t sell anything as gluten-free. If you need it, ask and we’ll point you to a dedicated gluten-free bakery nearby.
Is anything nut-free?
Sample policy: no peanuts in the building. Tree nuts show up in two seasonal items only, baked on Mondays, shelved apart and labeled. The kitchen shares equipment, so for a severe allergy, call before you order and we’ll talk it through.
Do you deliver?
Custom cakes, yes: Gilbert, Chandler, Mesa and Queen Creek, Thursday through Sunday, with a flat fee by town. Everything else is pickup only, so it’s still warm when you get it.
Can I skip a week of the bread club?
Yes. Text us by Thursday night and that Saturday is skipped, no charge. Cancel the same way, any time.
Pre-order or ask about a cake
Tell us what you want. We’ll hold it.
Rather just call?
(480) 555-0198Call 7 am to 2 pm. Before 7 we’re baking and can’t always get to the phone.
Feeding an office or a party of 50 or more? Call, and we’ll plan the trays with you.

The case empties by 10. Your box won’t.
Web Rescue · Why this page works
What’s on this page, and why it’s there.
- “Order tonight” is the whole pitchA bakery’s real problem is the case that’s empty by 10, which sends morning visitors home with nothing. The page sells one habit, pre-ordering by 8 pm, in the headline, the case card, the tool, the dark band and the bar at the bottom of every phone.
- Three doors, three customersSomeone grabbing breakfast, someone planning a birthday and someone who wants bread every week buy differently. Each gets a door: pre-order, cake request or bread club, so nobody reads the whole page to find theirs.
- A real menu, in real textPrices and allergens are typed, not a photo of a chalkboard, so they read on a phone, work with screen readers and show up in Google. Every item lists its allergens. The prices here are samples.
- Recurring bread moneyThe Saturday bread club is a bakery’s steadiest income, so it’s the marked default with the math beside it: a dollar under the case price, and a loaf held even when the case is bare.
- A box builder instead of a photo wallTapping a box full is more fun than scrolling, and it ends where the bakery wants: a reserved box with a name on it, handed straight to the order form. Fill a 12 and the baker’s dozen kicks in.
- Loud, but it still readsPoster-size type, hard shadows and a ticker carry the personality until the photo shoot; the dashed tiles mark where pastry photos go. The ticker pauses on hover or with its button, and stops completely for visitors who turn off motion.
On a real site, this homepage is page one.
A sample is only the homepage. A client site built from it adds these pages, and the homepage links to each one.
- Online orderingThe real pre-order flow: pick a pickup time, pay online if the bakery wants to, and get a text when the box is ready.
- Custom cake galleryPast cakes by occasion, servings and starting price, with a request form that asks for the date first.
- Bread club sign-upJoin, skip a week or cancel from a phone, without calling the bakery.
- Allergen guideEvery item with its allergens, and the nut-free shelf policy in full, for parents who check.
- Catering and office ordersPastry trays and cookie boxes for meetings, with lead times and minimums.
- Business markup for GoogleBakery schema with hours, menu and location. Left off this sample on purpose, because the business is fictional.
