Receipts and miles, sorted for tax time.
Tax time is harder when receipts fade in a truck console and nobody wrote the miles down. Log both as you go with this free file. At the end of the year you hand your tax pro clean totals and a mileage log, not a shoebox.
- Categories follow the expense lines on IRS Schedule C, in plain words. Meals show what you paid and the part that’s generally deductible (50%).
- Each trip is priced at the IRS rate for its date: 70 cents a mile for 2025, 72.5 cents from January 1, 2026 and 76 cents from July 1, 2026. You can edit the rates.
- Keep your paper and emailed receipts too. A photo in the tracker helps you find them fast, but your original records still matter.
- This is a record-keeping aid, not tax advice. Check with your tax pro about what you can deduct and which mileage method fits you.
- It’s one file that runs in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent anywhere, so back it up from Settings once a week.
