Chase a late invoice without the awkward part.

Enter one unpaid invoice and get four messages, from a friendly nudge to a formal letter, each dated from the due date. Copy them as texts or emails, or put the dates on your calendar so nothing slips.

  • Every message stays polite and factual. Keep it that way: never mention a step you don’t plan to take.
  • Only charge a late fee the customer agreed to in writing. Some states cap late fees and interest.
  • The late fee is simple, never compounded: amount owed × monthly rate × days late ÷ 30, or a one-time flat fee.
  • Send the formal letter by certified mail with a return receipt, and keep a copy.
  • Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to us, and the open-invoice list is saved only if you turn on Remember.

How to pay

From your invoicing or card app. Printed as text, never as a clickable link.

Late fee
Did the customer agree to a late fee?

Only if they agreed to it in writing before the work, for example in your contract or invoice terms. Messages mention a fee only when you pick one.

Late fee calculator

You picked no late fee, so none is added. If the customer agreed to one in writing, choose % per month or a flat fee under Late fee.

Check before you charge a late fee

Some states cap late fees and interest, and some only allow them when the customer agreed in writing before the work began. Only charge what your customer agreed to. If you’re not sure, leave it out.

Formal demand letter

Step 4 is a polite, formal letter with the amount itemized. It’s dated from the due date.

Only mention a step you really plan to take. Saying you will do something you don’t intend to do can break the law.

Mail the letter by certified mail with a return receipt, so you have proof it arrived. Write the tracking number on your copy and keep it with the invoice.
